Guess what we found

Back in July of '08 we had a temporary shut down in the picture department. The memory stick for my camera went missing-and neither child would admit to what happened to it. Joel was doing some work on the computer, and discovered it about a week ago. It was in the disk drive-I don't mean the CD drive, the actual disk drive. Do those things even exist anymore? Anyway, I had already posted the pictures that were on it, so I don't have anything new to show. But now I have an extra memory stick, in case the other should happen to disappear.

Better late than never

I finally got Joel to fix the problem with this picture. It took him all of 3 seconds...go figure! I promised I would post it...even if it's 349 days til the next Christmas!

Dinner with friends

We went out for Chinese dinner this evening. There were 10 of us, 5 under the age of 3! It went better than you would imagine, that is after you take out the fact that Ryan vomited all over the second we got to the table, Damon was running in circles around the buffet tables, Jake spilled his soda 3 times (only 1 inch in the cup every time thankfully) Jazmin kept beat with chopsticks the entire meal (no matter how many times we took them away, she managed to find more), and Gavon-cute as can be and the best behaved by far-he sat quietly and ate faster and more than the other 4 combined! It wasn't a total loss, at least I didn't have to cook, do dishes, or ever show my face at that restaurant again!

Happy Birthday Jacob Kendall!!!

Today my baby, well so far anyway, turned 2! It's hard to believe that it's been two years already, but time flies when you're having fun. He is a little confused because we had birthday cake, and his Auntie Kendall called to wish him a happy birthday, but he didn't get any presents. We'll rectify that this weekend! In the mean time, keep being you little man, you're one of a kind!

A brief update

Joel has transitioned into his new position (which I forgot to mention...he got a promotion into the IT department-still with Medtronic. Congratulations honey, we're very proud of you.) very smoothly. He's still learning what's expected of him, but I have the utmost confidence that he will as usual exceed all expectations and prove to be a valued employee.

I am cruising right along with this pregnancy. The baby is very active and thankfully isn't giving me near the heartburn Jake did. Aside from being tired all the time (still) I feel great, and am anxious to meet this baby.

Ryan is an incredible little guy. He mastered potty training (after I had completely given up hope) virtually overnight. He is always saying or doing something that amazes me. Whether it's reciting every gift he got for Christmas, helping Jazmin walk through the house, or saying the greatest things like "mommy, you sure look pretty today". He's also in the "why" and "what for" stage.

Jazmin is cruising on two feet almost everywhere now. She's really using her sign language as well as mouthing and trying to speak a ton of words. Her favorite is stop and no! She's gotten to be a bit naughty lately, which is a blessing in disguise. She's learning independence and that's wonderful, most of the time :)

Jacob is a heart breaker. He can do something super naughty and I can be so mad at him, but when I send him to his room he says "okay" in a little sing song voice, and I can't help but turn away so he doesn't see me smile. He will ask me "dat momma?" and I'll answer him, and no matter what the answer is he says "oohh" like I just spouted out the most interesting thing he's ever heard. He loves to read books. There's not enough time in the day to read all the books he wants read over and over and over. He's talking nonstop and is also a bit on the naughty side more often than not lately!

Overall things are great in the Peterson household, just non-stop busy and on the go! This weekend we'll be having a dual birthday party for Braeden who turned 1 on Monday, and Jake who'll be turning 2 on Thursday. It should be a lot of fun with family and friends.

Check back soon, I'm still hoping to get the Santa picture on here, and I have ultrasound pictures to share too.

New Year's Eve

We started out the night with the kids riding bikes in the garage. Amy came over with her 3 kids, so there were a whole lot of little feet running through the house. Then we moved into the house for some snacks, toys, books, playtime, and eventually a movie.
After our three kids were in bed asleep, we popped in a movie for Damon. Then the adults-and Amy's oldest played some cards. First it was hearts, then war, then go fish. We had some yummy dessert, joked around and laughed till we were almost in tears, and finally we set the kitchen timer for the midnight countdown. When it beeped at us we toasted our champagne and sprite and then swiftly called it a night. Who says you have to go out and spend money to have a good time? We had so much fun just being with friends at our home!

Christmas Morning

A photo of our tree on Christmas eve, before the kids woke up, but after Santa delivered presents.

Santa brought Jazmin a rocking chair that she loves.

Santa brought Jacob a two-wheeled motorcycle bike!

Santa brought Ryan a "green big boy bike" just like he asked for, because he has successfully potty trained...Santa followed mom and dad's stipulations!Duchess, and Duke both got monster rawhide bones.
I got a few extra winks. After all, Santa couldn't carry all those presents outa the basement alone (we don't have a chimney), or assemble them by himself!

Jacob's new step stool from his great uncle Tim.

Towers are only fun if you knock them down!

Ryan's new box from his great uncle Tim. Just what he needed to store some cars in!

Christmas Eve Pictures

Can we open presents yet?
Finally!
Jazmin's new "kitten"-Duke is very interested in it!
This home in Clearwater, MN has an estimated 1million lights on display. We went to view it 2x and were in awe each time.

New Big Boy Beds

The boys received their much anticipated new big boy beds on Christmas Eve. These were hand crafted over the last year(s) by Grandpa Bryce. They are absolutely beautiful beds, and the boys love them. I was afraid we'd have trouble getting them to stay in them when it's time to sleep, but they are more than willing...most of the time. Nana and Papa got them new comforters for Christmas, and Granny and Gramps got them matching Wall-E sheet sets. We're going to wait awhile before converting them into the bunk beds, it makes me too nervous. I'm sure the boys will be ready long before I am!
