The sweetest sound

I had my first OB appointment today. It went very well, and I have good news to report. There is only 1 baby in my tummy!!!! I think every new mom has the thought...maybe it's twins. Well, when you already have three kids, all under the age 3, hearing it's just one is very good news. Since Joel is out of the country, I thought I would try to get something to share with him from the appt. and this is what I came up with. I focused the camera on my shirt so when you watch it you can pay attention to listening, not watching.

Halloween Costume Party

Yet another party thrown on the Gregerson side of the family. (Absolutely no blood relation to us, but like family anyway) Kendall went as Glenda, Coy went as Cruella Devil, and Maggie was a skunk. It looks like a lot of fun, I wish we could have made it.

Foster Family Fall Brunch

The foster agency we are licensed through threw a brunch last Sat am. We planned to go, but then I changed my mind when Joel's departure interfered. Once and for all, we decided to go, and I'm glad we did. It took our (well my) mind off missing him for a few hours, and the kids had a ton of fun. There was a magician/comedian that was fun for me....a little over the kid's heads. There was also a clown that was a little scary, but he made some great balloon animals. As you can see, the kids were pretty tuckered out by the time we got home, but there was no way they were going to let go of the balloons!!

It's about that time...

What time is it you ask? Well, it's time to add another member to our family. I am officially knocked-up. The four tests I took all said the same thing, positive. We're very excited to be adding our new member in the first part of May 2009( this means I'm 11 weeks). I know a lot of you are hoping for a girl, but remember, a healthy baby is the best baby of all.

Applesauce and Kaleigh

The other day the boys and I made homemade applesauce. That means I risked my neck climbing up to pick the apples, then washed and peeled them. Then cut them, boiled them, and drained them. Ryan wanted to "mash" them, but when it came time, he decided he didn't want to cuz the apples were too soft. Go figure. Jake follows whatever Ryan does, so that means I mashed them. It doesn't look like much, but after I mixed in the cinnamon and dash of sugar, it was delicious!
We ran in to Kaleigh and her siblings at the local ECFE school here in Monticello. Boy has she gotten big!! (l to r) Jordyn, Kaleigh, and Petrus.

Ryan's Birthday Party

Ryan doesn't actually turn the big #3 until October 22nd. But, Joel's going on a 3 week business trip to China and originally wasn't going to be around. So we bumped the party up to Oct 5th (our 6th anniversary). It was a great day, there were 12 kids, all under the age 4.5! It was mostly chaos, and since it was raining, we weren't even able to send them outside to burn off some energy on the playset.

Long time no blog!

It's been a crazy couple weeks, and we had so many things going on. First things first....I took this video a while ago. I have been at my wit's end trying to figure out how to keep Duchess in the yard. Joel started installing invisible fence-inside our chain link fence...(key word started), we've put stakes through the fence and into the ground, and even tried the shock collar. Nothing worked, until one day, Joel came up with a splendid idea. Not only can she not get under the fence, but she can't eat the wheels on the little jeep! We haven't really continued doing it...it just seems a little......cruel and unusual? But luckily she's been sticking around a bit more.

Hayride and Marshmallow Roast

This evening we went to an ECFE sponsored hayride and mallow roast at the local YMCA camp. The boys had fun playing with the kids before the hayride, and were very eager to board the trailer full of hay when it was time. Jake spent most of his time pulling the bales apart, and Ryan kept hanging over the edge. Nanny Jenny came with, that was a nice treat, we haven't seen her since her wedding reception. The boys weren't to excited to eat the marshmallows once they were cooked, but they had their fair share of un-toasted ones.

Playing outside on a coooooool evening

Happy Belated Birthday Emily

Late birthday wishes to Miss Emily who turned the big #3 on 9/22. She had a cake and little party in the park and we all indulged! Isn't she adorable?

Everybody, cut me some slack would ya!

All right ya'll, here's the deal; I have three children in my home-ages 2 11/12ths, 2 4/12ths, and 1 9/12ths. I also watch my neighbor's kid (2 9/12ths) a few days a week, manage all the nurses coming to and from the house, keep MD appts, organize playdates, get the kids to ECFE classes, plan and cook meals, grocery shop, find Duchess everytime she runs away-and then bathe the dead animal stink off her (almost daily) and this is just a very short list of the things I do. Not asking for kudos, just stating the facts. I promise the blog is a priority, but I'm sorry to say, if the dog is stinky; she's going to get a bath before I post pictures and updates. That being said, 2 outa three are asleep, Duchess came home smelling like fresh air (for a change) Ryan's watching a movie and Joel's watching the debate, so I'm going to update!
